Mahindra eXUV300 and Mahindra eKUV100 Teaser Image Revealed Ahead of Auto Expo 2020

Mahindra has teased the electric versions of the XUV300 and KUV100, namely e-XUV300 and eKUV100 ahead of the Auto Expo 2020 debut.

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced its plan to showcase as many as 18 vehicles at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 due to happen on February 7. Recently, the Mumbai-based home-grown company has teased the eXUV300 concept and the eKUV100 which are parts of cars at the Auto Expo 2020.

The Mahindra eKUV100 will be launched this year while the all-electric version of XUV300 might come in 2021.

The teaser image hints at the company’s flagship SUV, namely the XUV300 and KUV100 in their electric forms. Until now, however, there is no confirmation on the powertrain system or the power range of the new electric models.

Codenamed Mahindra S210, the all-electric version of XUV300 named the eXUV300 will come in a choice of two versions including one with a smaller battery pack and the other with a bigger battery pack. Reportedly, the base version of the eXUV300 can do a range of 200 km per a full single charge while the bigger one will be capable of running up to 350 to 400 km range. The Mahindra eXUV300 might be equipped with a 122 PS electric motor powered by a 380V battery. It will come as a huge contender to the likes of Tata Nexon EV or Hyundai Kona EV in India.

Mahindra will also introduce the production eKUV100 at the imminent weeklong biennial event. The development of the Mahindra eKUV100 has been confirmed by the brand and once launched, this car could be priced under the Rs 9 Lakh mark. Do note that the eKUV100 displayed in a near-production form at the Auto Expo 2018 came featured with a 41 PS electric motor sourced from the Li-ion battery pack.

With this powertrain system, the eKUV100 is capable of doing a range of 140 km per full charge. It is compatible with DC fast charger as well, enabling the battery to be 80% charged in around 60 minutes.

The eKUV100 was first unveiled at Auto Expo 2018, be it the brand's third EV after the eVerito and e2oPlus.

With these all-new electric cars, Mahindra is set to introduce its “Driven by Purpose” campaign at the Auto Expo 2020, with an aim to showcase the company’s sustainable mobility solutions which are technologically advanced to cater to the ever-evolving demands of the Indians.
