The Mahindra Marazzo MPV was launched its MPV Marazzo in September last year. This model has reached the 25,000 units sale recently.

Mahindra Marazzo was launched last year and six months after its launch, Mahindra has retailed 25,000 units of the models. At launch, Mahindra Marazzo was priced competitively at the starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh. And it has later hiked up by Rs. 30,000-40,000 at the beginning of 2019. On April 1st, Mahindra has raised the price across its passenger and commercial vehicle range by 0.5 – 2.7 per cent. Currently, the Mahindra Marazzo price mark starts at 10.18 lakh.

By raising the price for their MVP, Mahindra had risked their edge to other affordable models in the segment like Maruti Ertiga and Renault Lodgy. The earlier competitive price might be effective to prompt the customers to skip the Ertiga and stretch their budget for a better-equipped Marazzo. However, as it turns out, the price hike doesn’t seem to slow down the sale of the Marazzo.

On the other hand, the price hike of the Marazzo might weaken its competitiveness in comparison with the higher priced models like Tata Hexa, Toyota Innova Crysta. The customers who are considering the more premium options like the Hexa and Crysta are less likely to opt for the Marazzo as the price gap is no longer significant. So even though the Marazzo is doing stable in the market, Mahindra would have to consider carefully before raising the price again.

Mahindra Marazzo is also Mahindra's first vehicle to get four stars at Global NCAP crash test

Last year in December, Mahindra Marazzo is Mahindra’s first vehicle to get the four-star rate at the Global NCAP crash test. The high safety rate is the result of the well-equipped safety feature list which includes dual front airbags, a speed-sensing door lock system, ABS with EBD and brake assist and ISOFIX child-seat anchors across its range.

About the powertrain option, the Mahindra Marazzo is currently powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel that makes 123hp and 300Nm. This motor comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Petrol engine along with automatic transmission might come available in the later stage.
