Mahindra Marazzo Prices To Rise In January 2019

The new Mahindra Marazzo prices are expected to increase by as much as Rs 40,000 in January 2019. The top-spec variant can even surpass Rs 14 lakh.

The Mahindra Marazzo is likely to be more expensive from January 1, 2019. The new MPV, which was launched around two months ago, now has a price tag starting from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi. The price increase will vary between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000, depending on the variants. Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, said,

“As mentioned at the launch, the price of Marazzo was an introductory one. Effective January 1st 2019, we will be taking a price hike on the Marazzo, after a reasonable period of 4 months from its launch.”

Rs 1,400 crores has been invested in the Marazzo’s development by Mahindra. Although now, it is only available with a diesel-powered engine and an MT unit, petrol and AT variants are expected to be introduced later around 2020 to attract a wider network of customers. The home-grown automaker is also developing an AMT variant.

The Marazzo now receives power from a 1.5L diesel engine which can generate 123hp of max power and 300Nm of peak torque. The fuel efficiency stands at 17.3kmpl under ARAI test standards.

The increase in the price would make the Marazzo prices higher than that of the rivals like the Renault Lodgy or Maruti Ertiga. The new Marazzo has greater dimensions than the aforementioned MPVs and even has an 8-seat version. However, even after the price growth, the Marazzo will remain to be cheaper than the premium Toyota Innova Crysta.
