Mahindra TUV300 AMT discontinued by Mahindra

Mahindra has dicontinued the TUV300 AMT. The SUV now only comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox option.

The Indian carmaker Mahindra has now discontinued the AMT (automated manual gearbox) option in the TUV300. Earlier the AMT was offered with the T8 and T10 trims. According to the company's official website, the model no longer equips an AMT option. The car manufacturer is said to have discontinued the automatic gearbox because of limited demand. This month Mahindra has also launched the updated version of TUV300. The car comes available in five different variants which come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The facelifted TUV 300 employs X-shaped wheel cover, piano black grille with chrome inserts, smoked out headlamps with DRLs, new body cladding, and a clear lens tail lamps.

The car manufacturer is said to have discontinued the automatic gearbox because of limited demand. 

On the inside, the SUV remains more or less the same as it now equips some silver inserts. It comes with features like micro-hybrid technology, static bending headlamps and a GPS-enabled touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV gets powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk100 diesel engine which produces respective power and torque outputs of 100 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm at 1600 and 2800 rpm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed manual transmission. The SUV is rated to provide a mileage of 18.49 kmpl. Moreover, the SUV offered with 7 colour shades namely Pearl White, Highway Red, Majestic Silver, Bold Black, Mystic Copper, Highway Red Bold Black and, Silver Bold Black.

Braking in the TUV300 is done by disc brakes up front and drum brakes at the rear. While the suspension duties are done by front Double wish-bone type, Independent front coil spring along with Multi-Link coil spring suspension with Anti-Roll Bar at the rear. Dimensionally the SUV is 3995 mm long, 1975 mm wide, 1817 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2680 mm. The car also offers 384-litres of boot space which is expandable up to 720-litres. It comes loaded with safety features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD and CBC, collapsible steering wheel, seat belt reminder, auto door lock and much more.
