Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift Spied Testing Again

The facelifted Mahindra TUV300 Plus will come with some design alterations and more features.

The Mahindra TUV300 Plus, the nine-seat version of the Mahindra TUV300, was introduced to the Indian auto market last year. With the target audience being the semi-urban and rural auto buyers, the TUV300 Plus has been a slow-seller in big cities. To increase the attractiveness of the compact SUV, the domestic automaker will give it a mid-life update. Now, the facelifted TUV300 Plus has recently been spied testing and is scheduled to be launched in the foreseeable future.

The TUV300 Plus, which shares the same platform and many body panels with the TUV300, comes with a third seat row with two opposite facing jump seats. The updated TUV300 Plus is likely to come with some tweaks to the front including a new bumper and grille along with newly designed inserts on the headlamps. In terms of the interior, the new vehicle will be equipped with captain chairs for the second seat row and a forward-facing third seat row option.

The facelifted Mahindra TUV300 Plus will continue to receive its power from the 120 HP 2.2-litre oil burner first. Later, in order to make the vehicle comply with the upcoming BS-VI emission standards, this motor will be updated and can generate a maximum power of 140 BHP. This motor will also serve as the power source for the Scorpio and the new-gen Thar, which is also being widely tested on Indian roads.

The vehicle is also expected to be soon come with a BS6-compliant motor.

The safety features of the current Mahindra TUV300 Plus includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, driver seatbelt reminder, sided intrusion beams and auto door lock while driving, etc.

The updated Mahindra TUV300 Plus will be equipped with all of these features and even more. The current TUV300 Plus is priced in the range from INR 9.92 lakh to INR 11.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Prices of the facelifted version are likely to get a small hike. The official launch of the vehicle is expected to take place at the end of this year.
