As per reports, Mahindra will bring on the Magneti Marelli-sourced AMT unit in the XUV300 in the near future. Mahindra has outsourced Automated Manual Transmissions from Ricardo which is a UK-based supplier so far. This is also seen on the NuvoSport and the TUV300.
Referred others, XUV300’s fierce rivals which are Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza have featured AMTs from Magneti-Marelli as well.
The Magneti Marelli-sourced AMT will be on very soon
In a plan of Mahindra, the AMT gearbox for the XUV300 will soon be altered by an Aisin-sourced torque converter automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the engines will also be upgraded to meet the BSVI emission norm requirements in 2020.
The Mahindra XUV300 will come with two turbocharged engine options which are
1.5-litre diesel engine
1.2-litre petrol engine
In which, the former can develop 110 BHP and 200 Nm of torque, meanwhile, the latter can churn out 115 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. All that mentioned are mated to only a 6-speed manual transmission. The ARAI-certified fuel economy rates at 17 km/l (petrol)/20 km/l (diesel).
