Mahindra XUV300 Gets 4000 Bookings Prior To Its February Launch

According to the largest home-grown carmaker, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, the most-awaited Mahindra XUV300 has registered the excellent bookings of 4000 units and 60,000 enquires across the country. The automotive company is now at the final stage for the launch of the Mahindra XUV300 in India. This time around, the SsangYong Tivoli-based SUV receives a lot of expectation right from the first teasers and is looked to make drastic changes in the Indian space. Taking some design cues from its XUV500 sibling and the inspiration from 'the cheetah', the XUV300 becomes the hottest car in the segment of sport utility vehicles.

What’s interesting is that this is the first time the carmaker reveals the bookings and enquires of a product ahead of its launch, but apparently the XUV300 is in the centre of attention these days. The car is expected to get a host of segment-leading features like LED projector headlamps, taillights, sunroof,  new 17-inch alloy wheels, well-sculpted tailgate and many more.

Said to be the safest SUV of its portfolio, the Mahindra XUV300 is slated to arrive with the introduction of segment-first dual-zone automatic temperature control, 7 airbags and four-wheel disc brake. A cutting-edge cabin is also on the cards by the inclusion of modern touchscreen infotainment system, auto dimming IRVM along with steering-mounted controls. Once launched, the Mahindra XUV300 will undercut the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza or the all-new Ford Ecosport with the price ranging from Rs 8-12 Lakh (Ex-showroom).

Turning out to get everything right with the XUV300, Mahindra is believed to make some deals in India with the vehicle of high torque. Powering the car is a 1.2-litre petrol that churns out 110 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 2,000-3,500 rpm and a 1,5-litre diesel motor tuned for 115 bhp of power at 3,750 rpm and a whopping torque of 300 Nm units at 1,500-2,500 rpm. These mills will be all available with a 6-speed manual gearbox only, claimed to sprint from 0-100 kmph in solely 12 seconds. We can expect an automatic transmission unit to be introduced at a later stage.
