Mahindra XUV300 Specifications Revealed Prior To Launch This Month

Before its launch on February 14, the Mahindra XUV300 specifications have leaked through a brochure scan.

Under the hood of the Mahindra XUV300 will be two engine options: a 1.2L turbocharged petrol motor and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel unit. The former can produce 81 kW (110 bhp) at 5,000 rpm against 200 Nm from 2,000-3,500 rpm whereas the latter is good for 85.8 kW (115 bhp) at 3,750 rpm against 300 Nm from 1,500-2,500 rpm. The transmission duties on both of the variants are undertaken by a six-speed MT gearbox. The claimed mileage figures for the petrol and the diesel engines are 17kmpl and 20kmpl, respectively.
Supported by the X100 platform borrowed from the Ssangyong Tivoli, the XUV300 compact SUV will achieve better safety rating. It comes with disc brakes on the four wheels across all variants. The new XUV300 compact SUV is equipped with MacPherson Strut with anti-roll bar in the front and Twist beam suspension with coil springs in the rear. While the W4 and W6 variants will ride on 16-inch steel rims with 205/65-spec tyres, the high-spec W8 and W8 (O) ones will feature 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55-spec tyres.

The XUV300 compact SUV will be 3,995 mm long; 1,821 mm wide and 1,617 mm high, becoming the widest car in its segment. The ground clearance of the vehicle will measure 180 mm high; the wheelbase will be 2600 long, and the boot space will measure 265 litres.

Despite not being launched yet, the Mahindra XUV300 has long been well-known for its segment-leading features. The top-of-the-line W8(O) trim will be equipped with two-zone temperature control, seven airbags, both of which are the first-in-the-segment features. Other outstanding features include

Once launched in India, the Mahindra XUV300 is expected to be priced in the range of INR 8 lakh to INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price range, it will become a formidable competitor against the Maruti Vitara Brezza, the Hyundai Creta and the recently launched Nissan Kicks.
