In the first month of 2019, Mahindra’s passenger vehicles have bagged total sales of over 56,000 units.

The month-end sales announcement of Mahindra has revealed a positive growth of the company, especially in the passenger vehicles space. With the total number of 56,005 units sold in February, it has achieved the growth of 10 per cent compared to the 51,127 units in the same month last year.

A majority of the sales comes from the domestic market. This time last year, the Mahindra registered the sales of 48,473 unit, while this year, it has climbed up to 52,915 vehicles, marking the rise of 9 per cent.

On the PV segment, it has reached the impressive growth of 17 per cent with 26,109 vehicles sold. In the same month last year, there are only 22,389 passenger vehicles sold.

Commercial Vehicles segment is also Mahindra’s stronghold. With more than 21,000 unit sold in the first month of 2019, Mahindra has accomplished the minor raise against last year’s same month record.

Mahindra’s UV segment records the sales volume of 24,349 units, which is 16 per cent higher than last year’s 20,977 units.

New launches of the Marazzo, Alturas and XUV300 has helped to improved Mahindra's sales

The growth rates in various segments of the Mahindra could be contributed to some anticipated launches last year. In late 2018, the Marazzo MPV and the Alturas G4 were rolled off; and in early 2019, we have seen the new XUV300 enter the market. It has been a rigorous year for Mahindra with the successive all-new vehicle debuts. And the sweat fruit of improved sales performance is well-deserved.

The latest launch of the XUV300 is expected to push Mahindra’s sales in the sub-four-meter SUV segment forward. With the segment-leading torque and several segment-first features, Mahindra is hoped to score good sales in this high-demand space. Even though a small slice of this big cake could gain Mahindra a decent revenue.
