Maruti Suzuki Ciaz remained the top-selling mid-size sedan in recent times. The sedan also rubs its shoulders against the likes of the Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento, Nissan Sunny, and Fiat Linea. The Maruti Ciaz comes offered with both petrol and diesel motors. The sedan is also the first car in its segment which features a mild-hybrid system. Maruti has recently launched the Ciaz with an all-new 1.5-litre, oil burner which was much awaited. The sedan now derives power from three different engine options. The all-new 1.5-litre diesel mill develops 94 Bhp of power at 4000 and 225 Nm of torque at 1,500 and 2,500 rpm.  The engine comes paired with a 6-speed MT, but there’s no SHVS mild-hybrid system available with this unit.

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. The sedan also derives power from an all-new petrol engine which produces 104 PS of power and peak torque of 138 Nm twisting force. It also gets SHVS mild hybrid system and, it gets a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox for effective transmission. All three engines are quite efficient to return a mileage of 26.82 km/l (with 1.5-litre diesel engine), 28.09 km/l (with 1.3-litre diesel engine) and 21.56 km/l (with 1.5-litre petrol engine).
