Over 213 Units of Maruti Ertiga Sold Every Day Since Launch

Maruti Suzuki announced that the Ertiga has crossed 5.5 lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. The seven-seater MPV from Maruti Suzuki has emerged as the best-selling MPV in India. Launched for the first time in 2013, the MPV received a generation change in 2018. After breaking down these numbers via simple arithmetic calculations, we figured out that Maruti has been selling over 213 units of the Ertiga everyday since its launch. The resounding success of the MPV in the Indian market is attributed to its plush & spacious cabin, efficient & practical engines, and strong aftersales services. With the consistent sales volume acquired month in month out, the Ertiga has been leading the segment for the last two years.

The latest-gen Maruti Ertiga has been developed on the company’s Heartect platform which also underpins a range of Maruti models. Thanks to the new architecture, the Ertiga is 10 – 20 kg lighter than its previous-gen model. The Ertiga measures a 4,395 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,690 mm in height along with the wheelbase of 2,470 mm.

Currently, the Maruti Ertiga is available in a total of 7 variants. It is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 104 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque. It is the only MPV in India to come with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The transmission choices in the Ertiga include a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT.

Maruti Suzuki offers the Ertiga with a plethora of features including the brand’s SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, navigation, height-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, engine start/stop push button, leather-wrapped steering and many others. As for the safety features, the Ertiga MPV is equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, electronic stability control and more. The Maruti Ertiga is on sale in the price bracket of Rs 7.59 – 10.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
