Maruti S-Presso S-CNG Launched At Rs 4.48 Lakh, Offers Mileage Of 31.2 km/kg

The Maruti S-Presso S-CNG is finally launched in the Indian market. It was first showcased at the Auto Expo early this year. The new CNG-equipped hatchback is offered in four different trim levels.

India’s biggest automaker Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the S-Presso S-CNG in the domestic market. The CNG-equipped version of the hatchback was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020.  The new S-Presso S-CNG will retail at a starting price of Rs 4.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The CNG-equipped S-Presso is being offered in four different trim levels- LXI, LXI (O), VXI and VXI (O). The top-spec trim is priced at Rs 5.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is powered by an updated version of the K-series 1.0-litre three-pot gasoline engine that can run either on petrol or CNG.

It is rated to offer an ARAI-certified mileage of 31.2 km/kg and has a tank capacity of 55-litres (Water-filled capacity). The new Maruti S-Presso S-CNG comes loaded with features like driver & passenger airbags, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, internally adjustable ORVMs, central locking, and an integrated stereo system with USB, Bluetooth and AUX connectivity. Recently, the carmaker reported that they’ve retailed more than one million S-CNG and Smart Hybrid cars in the Indian market. Furthermore, Maruti has plans to sell another million CNG cars in the coming years. 

Speaking about the launched of the new Maruti S-Presso S-CNG, Mr Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “With the launch of S-PRESSO BS6 S-CNG, we are strengthening our efforts towards sustainable green mobility. The S-PRESSO S-CNG is designed to deliver optimum performance, safety, engine durability, convenience, and mileage.”

Maruti has asked a few selected dealerships to establish a CNG pump as it’ll increase the demand of CNG-equipped cars. The carmaker’s CNG vehicles employ dual independent ECUs and intelligent injection system. Maruti S-Presso has impressed many buyers who are looking out for entry-level hatchback. The cabin of the car is quite spacious and is big enough to accommodate four passengers at once. The regular Maruti S-Presso is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which puts out power and torque outputs of 67bhp and 90 Nm, respectively. Transmission duties can be had performed by either a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT.
