Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is Highest Selling Compact Sedan in September with 6,246 units

Maruti Suzuki has recently recorded a new sales mark for its Ciaz which is 6,246 units rolling out within September.

Being priced at Rs 8.19 lakh, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift version offers a new mild-hybrid 1.5-litre petrol engine and is available with minor cosmetic tweaks and a host of new equipment list.

Have launched from late August this year, the facelift compact sedan Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has marked the new milestone with 6,246 cars rolling out. This numbers also knocks out the formidable competitors which are Hyundai Verna and Honda City in terms of sales. Thanks to this record, Maruti Suzuki has remains being on top position in the market share accounting for 28.8 percent in the segment.

In particular, the updated Ciaz sold out 6,246 units in September. This number is considerably significantly higher than the Honda City with 2,564 units and the Hyundai Verna with 3,501 units.

In the stage of April to September 2018, Maruti is estimated to sell in total about 24,015 units of the Ciaz with the pre-facelift model included. Additionally, it has also received over 10,000 bookings only for the updated version.

Meanwhile, in the same period, the Hyundai Verna recorded to sell 21,992 units. The Honda City rolled out 19,074 units. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, as a result, now holds 28.76 percent of the market share in the sedan segment.

In general, Maruti Suzuki has rolled out a cumulative 2.34 lakh units, since its first original model launch in 2014 in the country. 

As for the car performance, the new Maruti Ciaz is now replete with a new K15B engine, which replaces the older 1.4-litre engine. The 1.5-litre engine can produce 105hp of max power and 138Nm of peak torque which mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The previously existing 90hp, 1.3-litre diesel motor with mild-hybrid tech is unchanged.
