India’s largest selling manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has announced a precautionary service campaign for the celebrated Maruti Baleno hatchback in India.

Maruti Suzuki India has started a comprehensive service campaign for the chart-topping Baleno hatchback for inspecting the ABS actuator in India. The campaign will cover 3,751 units of Baleno manufactured from December 6, 2018, to February 4, 2019, and in which the premium hatchback has been called for inspecting and updating the ABS software which is a key part of the car’s braking system. It is noted by the carmaker that this major campaign is not a “recall” and there are no issues concerning the safety involved.

In fact, it turns out to be a massive upgrade in the actuator assembly ABS for the Baleno in order to optimize the maximum safety quality and rectify any inconvenience caused to users on these abovementioned units. The anti-lock braking system actuator is a hydraulic device that combines with the engine control unit (ECU) to command the brakes during urgent situations. For the device to be checked, the Maruti Baleno buyers are requested to fill in the chassis number (that starts with MA3 or MBH followed by a 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the company website. The number will be embossed with the vehicle ID plate, vehicle invoice and registration documents as well. Customers hence will be called into the nearest authorized service centres and showrooms to have the component revamped with free charge.

It is noted that the mid-cycle Maruti Baleno facelift has been launched in India earlier last month at the prices between Rs 5.45 Lakh and Rs 8.77 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Indonesia-Japanese carmaker has performed some subtle changes regarding the cosmetic beauty and features of the vehicle. Available with 4 different variants- Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha, the new Baleno facelift takes a redesigned 3D front grille, sportier bumper, wider air intake, LED projector headlamps and chrome-accentuated front fog lamps to name some of the exterior feature highlights. Inside the cabin, the updated Maruti Baleno gets a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system similar to the new-gen WagonR. Standard safety features include dual airbags, driver and front passenger seatbelt reminder, reverse parking sensors, speed alert, ABS with EBD and more.
