Maruti Suzuki releases recall for the Swift and Dzire due to suspected Airbags Controller error

Due to a possible fault in Airbags Controller, the total number of 1279 cars has received recall from Maruti to be inspected.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki has released its recall for a number of new Swifts and Dzires. More specifically, 566 Swifts and 713 Dzires produced between 7th May and 5th July 2018 have been recalled for inspection. It is reported that there might be an error in the Airbags Controller unit which could affect the operation of these cars. This fault will be fixed by Maruti Suzuki’s specialists.       

From 25th July, the car owners of the suspected fault-included cars will be approached by car dealers of the brand to offer needed investigation and replacement, if necessary. The car owners could bring their cars to Maruti Suzuki’s authorized workshop to receive the required inspection. The cost of examination and replacement are at the manufacturers’ expense.

In May 2018, Maruti Suzuki also took actions and opened their services camp for 52,686 cars including new Swifts and Baleno hatchbacks to inspect a possible flaw in the brake vacuum hose. It is also necessary to emphasize that recalls are encouraging act from the manufactures which could actively eradicate even the smallest chance of incidents caused by the possible flaws.

Both of the current Swift and the Dzire are recently launched with the Swift being introduced at the Auto Expo in February and the Dzire being launched last year. Within a short time, the Dzire has become a hot-selling compact sedan, whereas, the Swift has rocked the sales chart with 1 lakh units sold just within 5 months after its launch.
