Maruti Suzuki S-cross Hits 1,00,000 Sales Unit

Maruti has recently announced to mark the 1,00,000 sales milestone of the Suzuki S-cross after the car launched over three years in August 2015.

Maruti Suzuki, the biggest automaker in India, has recently confirmed to achieve the new milestone for its S-cross after 3 years rolling out. In particular, since its first launch in August 2015, Maruti Suzuki S-cross has nailed the mark of 1 lakh cumulative sales just in India market. This crossover is the first model to be showcased at the Nexa showroom which is considered the premium dealership of Maruti. The S-cross has been treated as one of the flagships of Maruti in the line-up product. As a result, it got the updates in October 2017 with several tweaks in terms of interiors and exteriors.

The exterior was facelifted with a host of equipment as standard across the whole range, including

  • Rear parking sensors 

  • Speed alert system 

  • Passenger seat belt reminder

Commenting about this milestone, R S Kalsi, the Senior Executive Director of Marketing & Sales from Maruti Suzuki reported to the media,

“We are thankful to our customers for their love and positive response. S-Cross has clocked over 16 percent market share in its segment and The S-cross is available with a solitary 1.3-litre diesel engine which makes 90hp and 200Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is no automatic gearbox on offer. Safety features such as dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and Isofix child seat mounts at the rear are standard on all variants.”

Maruti Suzuki positioned the S-cross quite competitively. Particularly, the range starts from Rs 8.85 lakh as for the base Sigma trim and reaches Rs 11.45 lakh as for the top-spec Alpha variant.

With this price, the crossover will have to fend off the competition with the Renault Captur and Hyundai Creta and also the two upcoming models Nissan Kicks and Tata Harrier.
