1 Maruti XL6 Being Sold In Every 20 Minutes

Maruti XL6 has been positioned as a premium crossover-MPV, it has sold over 22,000 units in just 8 months.

Launched in August last year, the premium MPV Maruti XL6 is offered as the only MPV at Maruti’s Nexa dealerships.  Within 8 months after launch, Maruti has sold over 22,000 units of the XL6 across the country, which means more than 3 units are being sold every hour.

Maruti XL6 is offered as the premium version of the best selling MPV Ertiga

Maruti XL6 is based on the other MPV from the Japanese car manufacturer, the Ertiga. However, Maruti has revised, updated and enhanced various parts of the original model to create a new premium offering with different styling and of course, more upmarket equipment.

On the front end, the Maruti XL6 gets a larger grille, revised LED headlamps, new bumper and faux skid-plate. In addition, Maruti XL6 sports side-profile body cladding, 15-inch alloy wheels with black treatment. Inside, Maruti XL6 gets an all-black interior scheme instead of a beige scheme used on the Ertiga. Unlike the Maruti Ertiga, the XL6 comes with two captain seats for the second row in replacement of the bench-type seats.

Maruti XL6 ends up with a more premium interior compared to the Ertiga 

About the features, the Maruti XL6 is equipped with some premium functions like automatic climate control, cruise control, rear air vents, keyless entry and push-button start/stop. It also gets a SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen display supported by Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and height-adjustable driver seat.

Under the hood, the premium MPV derives power from the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine used on the Ertiga. This engine is capable of making 105 PS of peak power and 138 Nm of maximum torque. It is offered with two choices of engines, a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional4-speed torque converter. With the assistance of the SHVS mild-hybrid system, the Maruti XL6 offers good fuel efficiency.

Maruti XL6 is now available in two variants, Zeta and Alpha. The price range of the MPV starts from Rs 9.84 lakh and goes up to 11.51 lakh.
