Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza’s Sales Reach 4 Lakh Units

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been one of the most popular compact SUVs with Indian auto buyers and known to dominate the segment for quite some time. Recently, it has established another record with the accumulative sales of 4 lakh units in under three years since its launch. In other segments, the biggest Indian automaker has also experienced other similar records.

The compact SUV reached the one lakh-unit mark after just 12 months, 2 lakh units in 20 months, 3 lakh units in 28 months and finally, 4 lakh units in 35 months. Moreover, the AMT variants have also witnessed impressive sales with a 20% penetration in the segment.

From the beginning of 2019 up to now, the Vitara Brezza has recorded 7% sales increase, selling an average of 14,675 each month, far surpassing the consistent second best-selling vehicle, the Hyundai Creta, which has a monthly sales of 8,000 to 10,000 units. These talking numbers showcase how popular the Vitara Brezza is with the Indian car buyers.

Commenting on the record, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) of Maruti Suzuki, R S Kalsi, stated,

“The benchmark success of Vitara Brezza with over 4 lakh customers in less than three years is a testimony of the customers’ increasing preference towards the refreshed design and innovative features of the compact SUV. We would like to extend our heartiest gratitude to our Vitara Brezza customers and particularly those who have chosen to wait for their loved car.”

Powering the Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV is a Fiat-sourced 1.3L DDiS diesel motor which can deliver a max power of 89 bhp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The power is sent to the front wheels through a 5-speed MT gearbox. The SUV has a quite good mileage of 24.19 kmpl. Earlier, the Vitara Brezza received 4 stars on the front adult occupants’ protection and 2 stars on rear children protection in the safety test conducted by Global NCAP. The body structure of the vehicle has also been evaluated as stable by the organization. All of these have reinforced the prestige of the Vitara Brezza in particular and of all Maruti Suzuki cars in general with the Indian auto buyers.
