2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG will be offered in two variants; Lxi and LXi (O) at the price of Rs. 4.84 and 4.89 lakh respectively.

The long-awaited CNG version of the popular hatchback Wagon R has finally arrived, shortly after the launch of the third-gen Wagon R. This engine option is currently available on the entry-level variants only. At the price of Rs. 4.84 and 4.89 lakh, Maruti Wagon R CNG will be a very competitive runner on the CNG race.

The CNG version will be available with the 1.0-litre petrol engine that has been serving the Wagon R from the previous generation. With this engine, the Wagon R CNG is provided with the maximum power of 68Nm and the peak torque of 90Nm. A five-speed manual transmission is coupled with this engine. The whole powertrain setting allows the Wagon R CNG to reach the exceptional mileage of 33.45kmpl.

Recently, a video posted via a Youtube account has taken the wrap off the WagonR CNG. 

The Wagon R has been around for almost two decades. Ever since its launch, the Wagon R has grasped up a huge chunk of the market and doesn’t seem to let it off. Over the years, it has accumulated total sales of over 2.2 million units. The current launch of the third generation has brought into play an array of changes.

It takes in the HEARTECT platform used on various Maruti models like the Swift, Dzire and Baleno and Ignis. Thanks to the newly-adopted platform, the Wagon R has a lighter and safer construction that comes with better driving dynamics.

Inside the car, the Wagon R is added with a myriad of new features, including Smartplay touchscreen.  

The engine line-up greeted a new member which is the 1.2-litre K series petrol engine. This engine is previously featured on the Swift. With the peak power of 83 PS and 113 Nm, it is paired with either a five-speed manual and five-speed AMT. This powertrain option comes with a lower mileage of 21.5 kmpl.
