The Maruti Suzuki XL6 which is schemed for its launch soon is spotted at a dealership stockyard right ahead of its launch. The spy shots reveal a clear picture of the car's overall look embarking its crossover design cues.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga based XL6 MPV that is slated for a launch on August 21, has begun to arrive at the dealership yards. The XL6 will be a premium offering from the manufacturer, based on the subtle Ertiga and will retail from the NEXA series of outlets. Bookings for the XL6 have already commenced and can be booked at any NEXA outlet across the country.
The car seen here in the pics looks like the top-end ZXI trim of the XL6, adhering to the fact it wears a SmartHybrid badge, sits on alloys wheels and two only come together in the top-end trim in the house of Maruti. Though, it is surprising, that this Maruti does not wear any badge to read out its trim.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 spotted at a dealership yard ahead of its launch, hints at deliveries to commence soon.

Technically XL6 is an Ertiga underneath the crossover themed styling packing, which imparts the car a new and different look. On the design department, XL6 gets a thorough makeover at its front end, with a flatter-sculpted bonnet and revised Quad-LED headlamps. The chrome ribbon that houses the Suzuki logo extends all the way in the headlamps making space for the LED DRls. To stay true to the crossover theme, XL6 wear black cladding all around itself from the front bumper to the wheels arches on the sides and the rear bumper. The XL6 also sports faux skid plates at both the ends and the door sills can be seen finished with the same way.

The XL6 gets a faux skid plate at the rear, while the overall rear facet still reminds of the Ertiga.

The key purpose behind naming this Ertiga iteration as XL6 is defined by the seating configuration it will be offered with. The XL6 will come with two individual captain chairs in the second row against the bench seats offered in the Etiga. The captain chairs will with dedicated armrest and reclining & sliding function to make the rear seat journey far more comfortable. The interiors will now come finished in a darker shade which is called as stone finish by Maruti. The dashboard design and the other plastic bits will retain the same shape as the car it is based on.

The XL6 will get a 1.5L K-series petrol motor under its hood with mild-hybrid technology. The petrol motor generates 105Bhp and 138Nm and is available in this very state of tune in the Ertiga and Ciaz, and has the word reliability added to its pros. There will be 2 transmission options on offer, a 5-speed manual, and a 4-speed torque converter unit. As of now, Maruti would not launch a diesel variant of the XL6, as they are yet to develop a BS-VI compliant oil burner. While an option of CNG can be expected to come at a later stage.

The XL6 is expected to be priced half a lac more than the outgoing Ertiga, and this slates it in direct competition to the Honda BR-V and the higher variants of the upcoming Renault Triber. With the BS-VI coming into effect the diesel-only Toyota Innova and Mahindra Marazzo will see a massive price hike in their prices, which will add up to XL6’s increased customer base in the 10-13 lac rupee price cap.
