Maruti Suzuki has the vision to strengthen their stronghold in the SUV segment with a micro SUV which is expected to launch in 2019.

At the Auto Expo 2018, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Future S concept which was warmly welcomed by the car enthusiasts. As far as we know, this car is going to be launched in 2019.

With the length of under four meters, the SUV will gain an advantage in terms of tax. The same approach has been done with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. That said, the new Maruti Suzuki SUV will be smaller than the Vitara and much likely to be positioned on the micro-SUV segment. But it will not replace any other car in Maruti’s product line-up.

The Future S concept is sub-four-meter SUV with a tall boy stance. And Maruti’s next SUV will also remain the unmistakeable SUV styling. It will feature the high-set bonnet with bold shoulder line, not to mention the prominent flared wheel arch.

Maruti Suzuki is widely known for their unbeatable hatchbacks. It has soaked up the majority of the hatchback segment to the extent of monopoly. It seems that the automaker is channeling their interest to the SUV segment, given that the SUV is increasing at a remarkable pace. The only real SUV in the market from Maruti is the Vitara Brezza which has already a hit in its segment. With the upcoming SUV, it is predictable that the Maruti Suzuki will take the SUV segment by their hand.

It is likely that the new SUV will be underpinned by the light Heartect platform and draw power from the 1.2-litre petrol engine.

It is expected to be launched before the Diwali next year. The Maruti Suzuki micro SUV price is anticipated to range around 5 lakh.
