Indian automaker Maruti Suzuki is now offering an optional 5 year/1,00,000 km warranty package on the Vitara Brezza to help it compete well with the Hyundai Venue.

India's biggest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has recently announced a free 5-year complete warranty package for its top-selling sub-four meter SUV, the Vitara Brezza. The comprehensive warranty kit, which was, until recently, being sold as an optional extra, is now being offered totally free of charge. Basically, the automaker is now finding out the best ways to prevent the newly launched Hyundai Venue from attacking the Vitara Brezza's sales. Basically, the brand is not offering a standard five-year warranty package. It is a 'free 5-year warranty' offer which is provided by the authorized Maruti Suzuki dealerships. Like other car models in the manufacturer's portfolio, the Vitara Brezza comes with a two-year/40,000 km standard warranty. On the other hand, the 5 year/1,00,000 km lakh warranty kit is offered as optional for now.

In June 2018, Maruti Suzuki sold around 8,871 units of Vitara Brezza, which are hardly more than the 8,763 units of the Hyundai Venue. Moreover, the Mahindra XUV300 has grabbed the third position as the sub-four meter SUV managed to found 4,769 buyers. With the addition of new models in the sub-four meter segment, the popularity of Vitara Brezza is getting affected. In June, previous year, Maruti Suzuki sold 10,713 units of the SUV.

This new free 5-year warranty kit seems to be a substitute arrangement from the carmaker, just to engage the buyers until the manufacturer is ready with the facelifted version of the Vitara Brezza.

The newly introduced free 5-year warranty kit seems to be a substitute arrangement from the carmaker, just to engage the buyers until the manufacturer is ready with the facelifted version of the Vitara Brezza. The upcoming facelift of the company's most sold SUV will likely arrive with new looks, electric sunroof, side airbags along with a petrol engine option. Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza equips a 1.3-litre, DDiS, turbo-diesel engine that does the same duty in Ciaz and Ertiga. The engine churns out power and torque outputs of 90 Ps and 200 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed manual or a 5 -speed AMT.
