Last month, the Maruti Vitara Brezza's sales number surpassed that of the Hyundai Venue and in the process regained its leading position in the compact SUV segment.

Launched in May 2019, the first-ever Internet-connected SUV and also the first sub-compact SUV from Hyundai in India, the Hyundai Venue became one of the best-selling vehicles in the segment. For several months after its launch, the Venue even exceeded the Maruti Vitara Brezza in terms of the sales. However, in September 2019, the Vitara Brezza has reclaimed its leads as the king of compact SUVs in India with a decent sales number amidst the ongoing slump in the auto industry.
