India’s biggest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has recently reported that Vitara Brezza has crossed 5.5 lakh of sales mark within a short time span of 4.5 years. It is the fastest-growing model in its segment to achieve this milestone. Maruti Vitara Brezza was first introduced in our market back in 2016. The automaker introduced the new facelift model of the car early this year at the 2020 Auto Expo. Earlier, the SUV was offered with a 1.3-litre oil burner and comes paired with a manual and automatic transmission. It is tuned to develop power and torque outputs of 89bhp and 200 Nm.

The automaker discontinued the Brezza diesel due to the new BS6 emission norms. The 2020 model of the SUV is propelled by a K15B, 1.5-litre petrol motor, which churns out 103bhp of peak power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 4-speed AT comes is offered with the company’s SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) for better fuel efficiency. The same power plant does duties in Maruti Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6.

The new 2020 Maruti Brezza facelift features two-tone roof, striking new LED headlamps and DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), touchscreen infotainment system, automatic AC and much more. The new advanced automatic transmission now features the Hill Hold Assist system along with next-generation Smart Hybrid technology. The SUV is rated to offer an ARAI certified fuel-efficiency of 18.76 kmpl. It also features idle stop-start & torque assist functions with regenerative brake energy. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 7.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the entry-level LXi trim and goes all the way up to Rs 11.41 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec ZXI Plus AT Dual Tone variant.
