Maruti Wagon R To Get A Premium Version Soon

Following the example of the Ertiga and the XL6, another model from Maruti Suzuki, the Maruti Wagon R, is expected to get a premium version and could be sold through Nexa dealerships at the end of October.

Maruti Suzkuki has recently introduced the new XL6, which is based on the Maruti Ertiga, to the Indian auto market. However, the new MPV has received numerous alterations against its donor vehicle. The largest automaker in India is now developing another vehicle, which will follow the strategy of the Ertiga and the XL6, to get a premium version and to be sold through the Nexa dealerships. This vehicle is the all-new Maruti Wagon R, which has entered the testing phase in India and is expected to be launched in the foreseeable future.

The premium version of the Maruti Wagon R has been spied on Indian roads.

Although the test mule was carefully camouflaged, we can still expect some of the changes that the new vehicle can get. In the front, like the Maruti XL6, the premium Wagon R will come with brand-new LED headlights, a new grille and new bumpers. On the side profile, the car is expected to get all-new plastic cladding all over the body of the car and 15-inch black alloy wheels on the top-spec variant. In the rear, the expected changes will include full-LED taillights. All of these features will give the vehicle a much more upmarket appearance.

Although no spy images which shows the interior of the all-new Wagon R is available, it is expected to come with a much more luxurious dark theme, like the XL6. Besides, quite a few features will be added to its cabin to distinguish itself from the standard version. Nevertheless, the strong but light Heartect platform which underpins the regular Wagon R and the mechanical specifications will remain unchanged.

The all-new vehicle will receive a changes from inside out.

The Nexa dealerships is currently providing a wide range of models consisting of the XL6, S-Cross, Ciaz, Baleno and Ignis. Despite not having been revealed, the name of all-new Wagon R is likely to be the XL5. The vehicle will be added to the Nexa’s portfolio soon, making it more diverse. The new XL5 is expected to be priced at INR 5.6 lakh - INR 6.4 lakh (ex-showroom), witnessing a hike in comparison with the regular Wagon R. However, the vehicle is anticipated to become the most reasonably-priced model offered by Nexa dealerships.
