Mercedes-AMG has finally unveiled the AMG GLE 63 Coupe, which will derive power from a mild-hybrid engine for better fuel efficiency and acceleration. The SUV looks quite similar to the standard GLE 63 (which was launched in November last year), especially the sharply-raked roofline. That said, the AMG version gets a more aggressive and sporty-looking body kit.

Mercedes-AMG claims that the SUV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.08 seconds, and it achieves 280 kph of top-speed

Powering the new coupe-SUV will be AMG’s 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 petrol engine along with a 48-V starter-alternator. The latter adds 22 bhp and 250 Nm of extra power, up to a combined 571 bhp of power and 611 Nm of twisting force. Mercedes-AMG claims that the SUV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.08 seconds, and achieve a 280 kph of top-speed. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Couple comes coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Moreover, it comes loaded with features like 4MATIC+ four-wheel-drive system, six-driving modes (Race mode is exclusively offered with the top-spec S variant), active air suspension and active roll stabilisation. Outside, the all-new coupe-SUV employs a bespoke grille. The front fascia of the SUV also houses side skirts, window frames, front spitters along with blacked-out air-intakes. As compared to the GLE Coupe, the top-of-the-line version distinguished itself by housing a ‘Panamerica’ chrome finished grill and raised ‘Powerdomes’ in the bonnet upfront. The rear section of the coupe-SUV employs blacked-out performance style diffuser, which employs a bespoke AMG twin-pipe exhaust system. Furthermore, the sporty quotient of SUV gets enhanced by the addition of 22-inch alloy wheels (Offered as a standard fitment with more potent AMG GLE 63 S Coupe).
