Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan Debut in India, compete with Audi Q3

Indian-bound Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan has finally arrived. Let's see what the sedan could offer us.

In the recent month, we have been looking forward to the introduction of the Mercedes Benz A Class sedan and finally, the day has come. After times of participating, we could, at last, set our eyes on the new sedan of the Mercedes Benz A-Class series.

The new sedan from Mercedes will debut in the international market. The customers from the US and European countries are the first ones to have their hand on the A-Class sedan’s steering wheel.

With regard to the size, the new A-class sedan will take on the proportion of the CLA-Class, which will be shorter than the full-sized A-Class.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan will come into two drive systems, front wheel drive or 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The A-Class sedan is powered by a 2-liter turbocharged engine whose peak power is 188 PS and peak torque is 300 Nm. It is less powerful than the CLA class which could make 208 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque.

This engine will be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Whereas, the front or all-wheel suspension duties is done by a MacPherson strut suspension. 

The size of the wheels will be different for each variant: it could be either 17 inch or 19 inch. From the new official images, it is revealed that Mercedes A-Class will get five-spoke wheels.

A 2-liter turbocharged engine will generate power for the A-Class Sedan

Inside the car, apparently, the A-Class sedan will get dual 7-inch TFT screens, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and Dynamic Select adjustable driving modes. The exterior will get features like LED headlights, LED taillights, panoramic sunroof. In terms of the safety features, there will be the forward collision warning feature.

The Driver Assistance Package offer will include many useful features like Active Lane Change Assist, adaptive cruise control, Pedestrian and cyclist recognition, speed limit, etc. Other options offered are AMG Line, adaptive dampers, larger dual screens, Night package, and Exterior Lighting package.

Mercedes will reveal more information about this new sedan at the Paris Motor Show in October. The price of 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be a little lower than that of the CLA Class. By the beginning of 2019, it will be up for sale in the US. And the Indian-bound A-Class sedan will be launched in early 2019. The price bracket is expected to fall between Rs. 25 to 30 lakhs. And it will come up against the Audi Q3 – which is recently revealed.
