Mercedes Benz A-Class Sedan To Launch This Diwali

Mercedes Benz will launch the AMG A35 before introducing the regular version of the A Class sedan. Read for more details of the upcoming Mercedes Benz A Class sedan.

Earlier this year, Mercedes Benz displayed the new version of the A-Class sedan at the 2020 Auto Expo. At the time, the A-Class sedan was scheduled to launch shortly after the motor show. However, due to the pandemic outbreak, Mercedes has to move the launch date until later. It is reported that the Mercedes Benz A-Class is now ready to soon launch in India.

The German car manufacturer will launch the performance-focused version of the A-Class sedan called AMG A35 first. The AMG A35 will be equipped with an all-wheel-drive system along with some special styling highlights. For the exterior, this version will come with a more aggressive bumper, larger side skirts and bigger alloy wheels and boot lid spoiler as well as larger exhaust pipes. On the inside, the AMG version will come with additional sporty elements, for example, AMG bucket seat and sporty steering wheel. Other than these, the Mercedes Benz AMG A35 also will receive Burmester surround sound system, LED ambient lighting, sunroof, dual 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. The price of this variant is expected to start around Rs 60 lakh.

As per the report, the regular version of the A-Class sedan is likely to enter the market later, around November-December. The regular A-Class sedan will not come with all the sporty cosmetic highlights as mentioned above. Moreover, it will also get less powerful drivetrains.

The diesel engine that will power the A-Class sedan is a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 194 Bhp. As for the petrol variant, a 2.0-litre petrol engine is likely to take on the powering responsibility. This engine makes a top power of 185 Bhp. It will be offered with a 7-speed G-DCT gearbox.

Dimension-wise, the Mercedes Benz A-Class measures at 4,549mm, 1,796mm and 1,466mm in length, width and height. The wheelbase of the A-Class stands at 2,729 mm. The sedan is underpinned by the MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform which is also employed on the CLA and GLA.

The price of the regular Mercedes Benz A-Class will be around Rs 40 lakh. The standard A-Class sedan will feature LED headlights, free-standing cockpit with three display options, MBUX infotainment system with navigation and connectivity system, active brake assist, panoramic sunroof among other features.
