Earlier this month, the German luxury car manufacturer has commenced the bookings for the upcoming Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe in India. Now, the new coupe model is finally here. The latest India-bound Mercedes Benz model is the coupe version of the standard GLE SUV which is already available in our market. On the outside, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe bears some signature design elements of AMG vehicles. At the front, the AMG GLE 53 Coupe sports a vertically-slatted Panamericana grille which stands out as a distinguishing feature of the AMG vehicles. To the side profile, the Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe features 20-inch alloy wheels as well as side skirts, accentuating the sporty styling of the vehicle. The read end comes with AMG exhaust pipes and an elegantly-shaped rear spoiler.

Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe, like any other AMG cars, is designed to be performance-focused. It is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo, inline-six petrol engine which is capable of developing maximum power of 435 Bhp and peak torque of 520 Nm. This engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The high-performance SUV also features a 48V mild-hybrid system. If activated, this hybrid system can add 22 Bhp and 250 Nm to the performance of the coupe. This unit will support the main turbocharged engine during gear shifting as well as power an electric supercharger to boost the car before the mill kicks in.

Apart from the high-performance powertrain, the Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe is also available with the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. This mechanical setting allows the car to sprint from idle to 100 kmph in just 5.3 seconds. It could reach the top speed of 250 kmph.

Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe will replace the existing GLE 43 AMG Coupe which was previously on sales in India. When launched, this model will come up against the likes of BMW X6, Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Audi Q8.
