The Mercedes EQC will come to India in a few weeks and become the first all-electric SUV in the country.

The Mercedes EQC was unveiled in September 2018 and expected to be launched in India by end-2019. Nevertheless, the German luxury automaker could not launch the electric SUV at that time. After that, a showcase was held in January to announce that the launch of the SUV would take place in April. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the launch has been further delayed to a later time.

The Mercedes EQC is a pure electric version of the Mercedes GLC. It will be offered with only one variant: 400 4MATIC. Two electric motors in the front and rear axles drive the wheels, giving the SUV the driving features of an all-wheel driving system. These two motors deliver 300 kW (408 PS) against 765 Nm. The SUV can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds and it is able to reach a maximum speed of 180 kmph.
