Priced at Rs. 1.38 crore (ex-showroom), the Mercedes Benz V-Class Marco Polo will sit above the V-Class including the top-spec Elite variant. Mercedes Benz will offer this MPV in two variants, 'Marco Polo Horizon', and 'Marco Polo'. The former will be the entry-level model while the latter will be priced higher at Rs 1.46 crore.
Mercedes Benz V Class Marco Polo is born out of the need for an extravagant vehicle for outdoor camping. With the house-on-wheel design, the Marco Polo can provide a space for up to four people to accommodate. Furnished with a sofa-cum-bed, a foldable table, a 40-litre fridge, a well-functioning kitchenette, and even a wardrobe, the top-spec V-Class Marco Polo will provide the occupants with all the necessities to for a decent staying. It even gets the wooden flooring which is extremely premium. On the other hand, the entry-level Marco Polo Horizon will do without the kitchenette, the wardrobes along with other comfort features.
Powering this house-on-wheels is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which can unleash a max power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 380 Nm. The same engine is found on the V-Class Elite variant. A 9-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox will be responsible for delivering the power to the rear wheels.
Based on the long-wheel version of the V Class Elite, the Marco Polo measures 5,140mm in length, 1,928mm in width, and 1,901mm in height. The wheelbase of this MPV stands at 3,200 mm. At the moment, this luxury MPV has no comparable rival in the Indian market. The target of the Marco Polo also is limited to a small number of customer who wants a mobile home with style.
