MG Gloster Full-size SUV Spied With Quad Exhausts

MG Gloster has been recently spied on test. The car is expected to launch around Diwali this year with an expected starting price of Rs. 50.00 lakh.

MG has planned to launch a set of products in the Indian market by the end of this year. The company showcased a full-size ladder-frame SUV – Gloster - at the recently concluded 2020 Auto Expo. The SUV will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour after its launch, which is expected to take place sometime around Diwali this year. The SUV has been recently spotted while doing the final set of test runs. While the car was mostly free from any camouflage, it had the MG logo and other badges hidden.

Toyota Fortuner Rival MG Gloster Spied With Quad Exhausts

The MG Gloster will have an expected starting price of Rs. 50.00 lakh.

The 7-seater SUV boats of large dimensions with an overall length of 5,005 mm, a width of 1,932 mm, and a height of 1,875 mm. With loads of road-presence, the Gloster will be one of the biggest cars in its segment. Styling-wise, it features a high-set bonnet, multi-spoke alloys, chunky tyres, black wheel cladding, and multi-projector headlamps with LED DRLs. At the rear, the SUV will get wraparound tail lamps with LED elements and glossy black rear diffuser with a quad-exhaust setup.

Talking of the mechanical bits, the Gloster is underpinned by a ladder-frame chassis similar to the one seen on the Maxus T60 pickup truck. Internationally, the SUV gets power from a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine belting out a peak power output of 224 PS and peak torque of 360 Nm. The transmission options offered with this engine are a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed AT.

However, the Indian version of the car is expected to get an FCA-sourced bi-turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine producing a peak power and torque output of 217 PS and 480 Nm, respectively. It will come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a 4WD system as standard. It will also get a proper low-range transfer case to excel off the roads with a ground clearance of 210 mm. The Gloster will also feature a long list of equipment on board. It will come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system, 8.0-inch TFT display for the MID, 3-zone climate control, and ventilated front seats with heating and cooling function.
