MG Hector Completes One Year With A Sales Number Of Over 24,000 Units In India

MG Hector has successfully completed a year in the Indian market while registering total sales of over 24,000 units.

MG Hector, the first product of the British auto manufacturer has finished its first successful year in India. Launched in June 2019, the SUV managed to attain more than 50,000 bookings in just eight months after its arrival. Last month, 1,867 units of the SUV were sold, which is the highest sales number in the last five months. So far, a total of 24,392 units of the MG Hector have been sold, which has proved the success of the car company in India.

Advertised as the first ‘Internet Car’ in India, the MG Hector comes with a wide range of cutting-edge features. The most outstanding ones of which include a large 10.4-inch smart touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, embedded Airtel SIM card, AI-powered voice assist, pre-loaded apps, an ambient lighting system, automatic wipers, and cruise control. Features like automatic headlights, a large panoramic sunroof, four-way electrically-adjustable co-driver seat also add to the occupants’ comfort.

The MG Hector receives its power from BS6-compliant gasoline and diesel engine. While the former is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor which can generate 143 PS against 250 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed MT/DCT, the latter is a 2.0 diesel unit, which can deliver 170 PS/350 Nm and is paired with only a 6-speed MT.

The MG Hector is available in four variants: Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp. The prices for the Hector range from INR 12.73 lakh to INR 17.73 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian auto market, it competes against Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson, Mahindra XUV500, and Jeep Compass.
