MG is all-set to launch the new 7-seater version of Hector Plus next month. It will derive power from a petrol and diesel engine.

MG Motors launched Hector Plus in India in July this year. The all-new MG Hector Plus was launched in our market as a six-seater car with captain seats for 2nd row. Early this year, at the 2020 Auto Expo, when the carmaker showcased MG Hector Plus, they said that the SUV will be offered in both six-seat and seven-seat configuration. However, now it seems like, the carmaker is planning to introduce the 7-seater model of the SUV. The automaker has plans to launch the MG Hector Plus 7-seater by next month. We are also expecting the carmaker to introduce the MG Hector facelift. Inside, the cabin of the upcoming MG Hector Plus 7-seater will feature a bench seat for the middle row instead of the captain seats offered with the 6-seat version of the SUV.

The last row of the car will continue to be offered with two seats. One can also expect the new MG Hector Plus 7-seater to employ subtle cosmetic and feature updates on outside and inside to differentiate from the regular 6-seat model of the car. Recently, the new facelift model of the regular MG Hector has been spied with a new grille and 18-inch alloy wheels. One can expect these changes to be offered with the seven-seater version of MG Hector. Mechanically, it will derive power from 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engine. The former develops 170bhp of power, while the latter churns out a power output of 143bhp. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed MT as standard, while the turbo petrol trims of the SUV will be offered with a 7-speed DCT.

Inside, it’ll come loaded with features like a 10.4-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, MG’s in-car connectivity tech, a panoramic sunroof, an Infinity audio system, ambient lighting, a hands-free boot opening function, powered front seats, heated wing mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. It is expected to be priced slightly higher than the regular MG Hector Plus.
