MG Hector Plus Pre-bookings Commence, Only Six-seater Version To Go On Sale

Pre-bookings for the MG Hector Plus have been unofficially opened across the dealerships. The Hector Plus will be available with a six-seat configuration only.

Initially, various reports suggested that the three-row version of MG Hector, named Hector Plus would be offered in both 7- and 6-seat configurations. The 6-seater version was expected to come with the captain seats for the second row. However, the British automotive brand would now skip the conventional 7-seater layout and will bring the Hector Plus in a 6-seater avatar only. Also, the dealerships have now started accepting the bookings for the Hector Plus unofficially.

When it comes to the dimensions, the MG Hector Plus will measure 4,720 mm in length, making it 65 mm longer than the outgoing 5-seater version of the MG Hector. Apart from that, the width, height and wheelbase of the Hector Plus are expected to be the same. Speaking of the boot space, the spacious 586 litre boot of the Hector will go down in the Hector Plus to accommodate extra seats. That said, the upcoming six-seater SUV will come with 530 litres of the boot volume with third-row folded flat.

Apart from massive cosmetic changes and a different seating layout, MG will introduce the Hector Plus with additional features to further differentiate the six-seater car from its five-seater sibling. A powered tailgate with kick to open function, Black and Sepia Brown dual-tone leather upholstery, third-row AC vents will be parts of the feature list. The Hector Plus will be offered with a unique body paint option called “Starry Sky Blue”. On the mechanical front, the all-new MG Hector Plus will carry forward the engine and transmission options of the ongoing Hector, including a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel unit.

MG Motor India has a price card up its sleeve and the Hector Plus is expected to be positioned slightly lower than the Toyota Innova Crysta. It could start somewhere around Rs. 14.00 Lakh to Rs. 18.00 Lakh (estimated, ex-showroom). Therefore making it start at a lower price tag than the Toyota Innova Crysta. MG is set to launch the Hector Plus during the first week of July 2020 and the deliveries will begin in the same month.
