Previously, MG Hector Plus made its debut at 2020 Auto Expo. However, the features list of this new car was still kept under wraps back then. It is expected that the full feature list will be revealed as the launch date approaches.
From the released images, the MG Hector Plus will get some new cosmetic updates. On the front end, the Plus version gets a new grille, an updated skid plate and tweaked headlights with new DRL design. It should be noted that the Blue colour used on the MG Hector Plus in the preview images is not available in the current MG Hector.
The main highlight of the new TVC is Smart Swipe tailgate function that allows hand-free opening and closing of the tailgate. With this new feature, the tailgate can be automatically opened or closed by swiping your feet under the rear bumper. Apart from these new features, the MG Hector Plus will share a lot in common with the original MG Hector. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch infotainment system and voice control as well as a 360-degree camera. Both cars get a similar safety feature package including 6-airbag system, ABS with EBD and live car tracking function.

The new MG Hector Plus also carries forward the same powertrain options from the MG Hector. This six-seater will derive power from the same 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. While the petrol engine is powerful enough for 143PS/250Nm, the diesel motor is good for 170PS/350Nm. Similar to the MG Hector the Hector Plus also gets a mild-hybrid version for the petrol engine. The gearbox options include a seven-speed DCT and a six-speed manual gearbox.
It is likely that MG Hector will come as a six-seater model first. The seven-seater version is expected to be launched later. While the six-seater car sports two captain seats for the second row, the seven-seater version will be available with a bench seat in the middle.
