The tablet-like infotainment system is based on the i-Smart system that offers an array of connectivity functions. This unit enables SIM card insert and 5G connectivity along with Internet Protocol Version 6 support.

With cloud-based services on offer, the Hector could update its infotainment system with new content, applications and themes via MG Hector OTA. Besides, the eCall emergency alert system allows customers to send notifications to the customer management centre or registered phone number in case of emergency.

AI-based Voice Assist will be available on the Hector. Just by saying "Hello MG", car users could activate the voice assist system that performs around 100 tasks. MG Motor claims to bring out an “AI superior user experiences” that excels other current offers in the market. Also, it will be specifically customised to fit the Indian customers’ driving habits. This system could understand about 100 accents, which allows the system to perform accurately in response to some India dialects. The use of high-tech connectivity functions like voice command and AI assistance helps to reduce the use of physical buttons.

Out-sourced applications like TomTom’s IG Maps for navigating, Gaana for streaming music and AccuWeather for weather forecasting will also be embedded on Hector’s system. Moreover, the system will be highly-secured thanks for the Microsoft Intelligent Security and Geo-Fencing.

MG iSmart application could provide real-time information, for example, sending service reminders status of the door lock system, tyre pressure, as well as informing the current location. Also about services, the Magnet system will provide information on dealership, service centre and other related details.

It is confirmed that the MG Motor will receive power from a 2.0-litre diesel engine along with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The petrol engine might be paired to a 48V mild-hybrid system. A 6-speed manual transmission will be available across the range, while the petrol version is likely to get a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
