MG Hector was launched on June 27. So far, 12,000 bookings have been made, which leads to an increase in the waiting period.

MG Hector was recently launched in the local market, thereby marking the introduction of the first model from the British-Chinese carmaker in India. Pitched as a well-equipped car with advanced technologies, MG Hector has successfully attracted a large number of car buyers. So far, the MG Hector has garnered over 12,000 bookings. Thanks to such high demand, the waiting period of this model have soared to 20 weeks, which is longer than the waiting time for the likes of Tata Harrier or Mahindra XUV500.

The MG Hector has been launched in a competitive pricing range. Available at a starting price of Rs. 12.18 lakh, MG Hector is cheaper than both Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500. The best thing is that MG Hector even offers many best-in-class features. THe Hector is the first truly connected SUVs in India. The SUV is loaded with a plethora of connectivity features. At the centre of the impressive connectivity system is a 10.4-inch infotainment unit.

Apart from the powerful connectivity technologies, MG Hector also features some other premium features including, sunroof, adjustable rear seats, multi-colour ambient lighting and full-view camera. About the safety features, the first SUV from MG Motor is packed with ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, traction control, hill-start assist, rear disc brakes and ISOFIX child mounts as standard.

Dimensionally, MG Hector is the largest in class, especially when it comes to the length. At 4.65m long, it is much longer than the Harrier or XUV500. Understandably, MG Hector also owns the best in class wheelbase too, which will soon see the car to adopt the third row. The seven-seater version of the MG Hector is expected to launch next year. Plus, MG Hector comes with the best in class boot space of 587 litres.

Besides a fully-loaded car with attractive appearance, MG Motors also provides an appealing 5-year warranty pack along with a 5-year road side assistance.

As for the powertrain, MG Hector is available with two engine options, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 140 Bhp/250 Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 170 Bhp/350 Nm. Both of two engines will come with the standard manual transmission option while the automatic unit is expected to show up on the petrol engine only.

In the beginning, MG Hector is priced from Rs 12.18 lakh to Rs 16.88 lakh. There are four trims across the range, including Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. It is ready to take on Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500.
