Mild-Hybrid Auto Start/Stop System To Be Included in Mahindra XUV300

Mahindra XUV300 is the Mahindra’s new attempt in the segment of compact SUVs after many misses like the Quanto and the NuvoSport. Even though the TUV300 sells better than the formers, it is still nowhere near the segment-leading Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. However, Mahindra will soon launch a more potent rival to the Maruti Vitara Brezza with the introduction of the Mahindra XUV300.

Mahindra XUV300 will finally arrive on January 23

In the Mahindra XUV300, the company will offer a well-rounded package with many segment-leading features. It will be the first in its segment to get a whopping seven. Along with that, it comes with various driving assistance function like cruise control and electronic stability control. The cabin is optimized for the best creatures comfort like dual-zone auto climate control, auto dimming IRVM, auto headlamps, dual USB ports, leather seats and most noteworthy, a sunroof and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Rain rinsing wiper, auto headlamps are also offered in the XUV300.

Mahindra XUV300’s mild-hybrid auto start/stop function helps to increase the vehicle’s fuel efficiency

On the top of these, Mahindra confirmed that the XUV300 will come with an interesting feature of auto start/stop function supported by a mild hybrid system which could also be found in the Scorpio. With the help of this new tech, the SUV could save up fuel especially when joining bumper-to-bumper traffic in the cities.

On the engine front, the XUV300 share the 1.5-litre D15 four-cylinder diesel engine with the MPV Marazzo. This unit is able to make 123PS and 300Nm, making it the most powerful unit in the compact SUV segment. On the petrol version, XUV300 is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor. These units will be paired with the 6-speed manual transmission. The automatic gearbox is expected to follow later after launch.

Mahindra XUV300 will come up against the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Ford Ecosport and Tata Nexon. The price is expected to range from 8 lakh to 11 lakh.
