Maruti's Nexa brand has successfully completed 5 years in the Indian automotive market by selling over 1.1 million units to date.

Maruti is the largest carmaker of the country today. It retails its products in the Indian auto market via 2 sales channels – Arena and Nexa. The latter was introduced 5 years back in 2015 and has sold over 1.1 million products to date. Maruti introduced the Nexa in the Indian market to retail its premium offerings. As of now, Maruti sells a total of 5 cars from its Nexa chain of outlets. The list comprises of Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, XL-6, and S-Cross. However, the S-Cross is currently off the showroom floors, but would soon be joining the list back with a new petrol engine. Also, it was the first car that went on sale from the Nexa outlets.

If total sales volumes are to be considered, Maruti’s Nexa has performed commendably good by selling over 11 lakh cars till date. Also, it is currently the 3rd largest retail brand in the Indian automotive market with over 370 outlets across the country with presence in over 200 cities.

On the occasion of completing 5 successful years of Nexa chain of outlets, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “NEXA marks the first initiative by an automobile company in India to go beyond selling cars and create a new format of retail experience for its customer. In these 5 years, NEXA, with its diverse range of products, intelligent brand associations and unique customer experiences has delighted over 1.1 million customers. Talking of the upcoming offering from Nexa – S-Cross, it is all set to get back to the showroom floors by 5th of August. It will come with a BS-6 compliant petrol engine. It will be the same motor as the Ciaz. The 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor will belt out a peak power output of 105 PS and 138 Nm of max torque. It will be offered with 2 gearbox options – 5-speed MT and 4-speed MT. Also, Maruti will offer this motor coupled to a 48V mild-hybrid system, which it likes to call as SHVS. This system will boost the low-end performance and overall fuel efficiency of this motor.
