Mumbai Dealership Delivers The First Tata Tiago, Tigor JTP To The Owner

On October 2018, Tata has started launching the first performance-oriented models, which are Tigor JTPs and Tiago. The automaker has recently announced to begin the deliveries for the two models at Mumbai dealerships since the last Friday, December 21 2018.

The first units of the two models – Tata Tiago and Tigor JTP have been delivered to the Tata dealerships across the country. Recently, Tata Motors has confirmed that the very first Tiago JTP has been delivered to its owner in Mumbai.

Speaking about the event, Tata Motors said, 

“Huge shout out to Mumbai resident Mr Zishan Khan on being the nation’s first person to own a JTP. Congratulations! We wish you the very best and look forward to a long and thrilling journey with you. He is truly a #JTPRacerAtHeart”

Compared to their predecessor, the new Tiago JTP and Tigor get some mechanical updates and visual updates. In terms of the side profile, the two models are replete with 

• New front 

• Rear bumpers

• New front grille

• Side skirts

• Blackened mirrors

• New spoilers at the rear

• Twin barrel headlamps 

• New alloy wheels

As for the interior, both cars offer the sporty elements such as 

• All black color schemes on seats with contrasting stitching

• Aluminum pedals 

• New 8 speaker sound system

• Voice commands

• Navigation

It also gets some notable safety feature package include 

• Dual front airbags

• ABS

• EBD

• Front fog lamps

• Rear washer and wipers

• Day and night IRVMs 

• Central locking system

Regarding the performance, the Tiago JTP and Tigor have a host of features in common. The two models share the same engine specification which is the .2 liter, 3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This motor can churn out 114 bhp power at 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm torque at the range of 2,000 to 4,000 rpm which mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the engine allows the Tiago JPT and Tata Tigor to accelerate from 0 to a whop 100 kmph in only 9.95 seconds and 10.38 respectively. Notably, the two models are available in both of City and Sports driving modes with the top speed reaching 160 kmph.

Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are not on sale across the country. The sale is only limited to cities below. Check out the table for further information.

In terms of price, the Tiago JTP offers the price at Rs 6.39 lakhs. Meanwhile, the Tigor JTP is positioned at Rs 7.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Following the success of the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP, Tata Motors could slap the JTP label on the Nexon and Tata Harrier as well.
