New 2020 Nissan Patrol Nismo Snapped Without Camouflage

Here are a few spy images of the upcoming Nissan Patrol Nismo, which has been spied while getting tested in the UAE.

The in-house tuning, motorsports and performance branch of Nissan is known as Nismo (Nissan Motorsport International Limited). According to the carmaker Nismo has created road cars, which offer a thrilling and unique experience. Nismo is popular among enthusiasts for sports cars like 370Z and GT-R. In recent years, the performance division has expanded in several segments of the market, and it has resulted in the introduction of Juke Nismo, Sentra Nismo and Micra Nismo. The pre-facelift model of the company’s full-fledged SUV Patrol was offered with Nismo treatment in selected markets. Now, the automaker is planning to launch the performance version of the Patrol facelift.

The SUV has been spied getting tested in the United Arab Emirates, which among the world’s biggest full-size SUV markets. The upcoming Nissan Patrol Nismo was spotted with no camouflage, which reveals some important details regarding its design. Over the regular model, the Nismo edition gets a more aggressive body kit with some red inserts.

The 22-inch rims offered in the pre-facelift model has been carried over. The performance version of the car sits slightly below the regular model of the car because of the stiffer suspension system. The previous model of the SUV was powered by a 5.6-litre V8 NA gasoline unit, which is capable of shredding out 28bhp of power output. It is yet to be seen that the same powertrain will be offered with the new Nissan Patrol Nismo or not. One can expect the automaker to launch the performance-oriented SUV in UAE by next year.

In the Indian market, there are only two SUVs offered by Nissan namely- Magnite and Kicks. Nissan Magnite is recently launched by the carmaker and is doing well in terms of overall sales. It rivals the likes of Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Vitara Brezza. It derives power from a 1.0-litre NA and 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT or a CVT.
