New-Gen Kia Carnival Teased Prior To Debut In June

The next-gen Kia Carnival is expected to debut next month, ahead of which, the first teaser of the MPV has been released.

The next-gen Kia Carnival will come with a new styling theme called ‘Grand Volume’ with a much bolder exterior. The new MPV will feature a new radiator grille in three different designs, sharper headlights, new bumpers, and connected taillights. The 2021 Carnival will be 5,155 mm long, 1,995 mm wide and 1,740 mm high with a 3,090 mm wheelbase. Like the previous model, the new model will be available in two versions: High Limousine and Outdoor whose dimensions will slightly differ from each other.

The new Kia Carnival’s interior will be much more upmarket and be equipped with many features from the luxury vehicles. Spy media has revealed the upcoming Carnival’s interior with a wraparound cockpit which consists of a fully digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system, ultra-sleek air conditioning vents. The Kia Carnival interior has been spied earlier.

The new Kia Carnival is reported to receive its power from a 2.2-litre turbo oil burner with a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated and 2.5-litre turbo petrol units being introduced later. Moreover, the Kia Carnival is also likely to come with a full-hybrid variant with an electrically-assisted 1.6-litre turbo gasoline burner. Nevertheless, this electric engine suffered from some certification issues in the Mk4 Sorento; therefore, there has been a delay in its introduction in the upcoming Carnival.

Unlike the outgoing model, the fourth-gen Kia Carnival is expected to be offered with even as a luxurious four-seater version which is targeted at VIPs and business executives. The 4-seat Kia Carnival will directly compete against the Lexus LM which is available in only China and several other Asian markets. The Mk4 Kia Carnival will possibly come to India in 2022, before which, it is likely to be debuted at Auto Expo 2022.
