New-Gen Mahindra Scorpio Spied Testing Again

Mahindra has restarted the testing of the new-gen Scorpio and the SUV has been recently spotted while getting tested in Tamil Nadu. In India, the all-new model is expected to launch by next year.

The 2021 next-gen Mahindra Scorpio, which is codenamed as Mahindra Z101 has been spotted once again while getting tested in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. We think that the carmaker has restarted the road testing of the all-new Mahindra Scorpio. The SUV was first introduced in our market back in 2002, and it has been a game-changing vehicle for the automaker. The upcoming 2021 model of the Scorpio will be a completely new SUV and it’ll feature an all-new design language outside and inside. The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will get a whole new body with improved dimensions, new character line and robust structure for better safety. Traditionally, the SUV will continue to be boxy look though.

The SUV has been recently spotted getting tested in Ooty, Tamil Nadu

The new spy images suggest that the all-new model will be wider. Upfront, the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio will get a wide radiator grille, split lower air intake and a bulky bumper. The windshield of the SUV will be more steeply raked. The rear profile of the SUV will get side-opening tailgate, new-set of taillights and high-mounted stop lamp. Moreover, the SUV will come loaded with features like projector headlamps, LED taillights, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, cruise control, driver & passenger airbags and rear parking camera. Mechanically, the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio will be powered by a 2.2-litre, four-pot, BS6 diesel engine 140bhp of peak power.

The car will also be offered with a 2.0-litre gasoline engine, which puts out power and torque outputs 190bhp and 380 Nm. The carmaker has plans to introduce the all-new Mahindra Scorpio by the second quarter of next year. The ongoing Mahindra Scorpio is offered in four different trim levels namely- S5, S7, S9 and S11. It is priced between Rs 12.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 16.07 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The current-gen Mahindra Scorpio is powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-pot, oil-burner churns out 140 PS of peak power and 320 Nm of twisting force. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed MT.
