New Honda City Helps HCIL Post ENORMOUS 55% Growth

Honda India has recorded an impressive increase in terms of sales in the month of November 2020. Read on for further info.

Honda is one of the well-respected premium car brands in India. Currently, the Japanese automaker is enjoying immense popularity in India, posting a sales figure of 9,990 units in November 2020. It is clear that with these figures, Honda has witnessed a massive sales growth of 55 per cent on a YoY basis as against 6,459 units registered in November 2019.

On a month on month basis, however, Honda Cars India has reported a slight downfall of 8 per cent, as in the October 2020 carmaker sold a total of 10,836 units. Currently, the company’s market share is rated at 3.5 per cent which boasts of a 1 per cent increase compared to that of the same month in last year.

In July this year, Honda launched the most-anticipated new-generation City sedan in India. With the older-gen City retailed alongside, the new-gen Honda City has pretty much helped the brand to cement its foothold in the Indian space. In line with that, Honda introduced the BS6-compliant versions of the WR-V and Jazz, which are also playing as decent contributors to the brand’s increased market share.

In other developments, sources suggest that Honda is developing an all-new sub-four-metre SUV to join the party with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and more. The new Honda compact SUV will likely arrive in India before the end of 2021. A Hyundai Creta rival from the Honda is slated to be unveiled next year as well.

Some time back, spy shots of the next-gen Honda Civic have emerged on the Internet. The executive sedan is said to have its global debut sometime in 2022. Recently, the Japanese auto giant launched the City e:HEV in Thailand. According to rumors, the hybrid sedan might make it to India soon.
