Some of the images of The New Hyundai Carlino-Based SUV, which will be launched in India in April 2019, recently, have been leaked.

With the New Hyundai Carlino-Based SUV (the Qxi as its codename), Hyundai is ready to participate in the sub-4m SUV segment in India. Earlier, it underwent tests in the US, and after that, recently, has been spotted testing in India.

The heavily camouflaged mule doesn't reveal too much detail about the new car model but does suggest some primary features. Actually, few components of the Carlino concept displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo are preserved in the model spotted in India.

The new model is much sharper with chrome touches all around. In the front, the striking cascading grill headlamps are located lower in the bumper. What is also different is that the headlights are situated in the middle, far from the bonnet. The DRLs sit behind the slim black patch. Fog lamps are not absent and are positioned at the bottom of the front bumper. The heavy camouflage prevents us from recognizing any elements of the new Qxi’s rear. Fortunately, although the new Carlino has not been officially unveiled yet, the spy images hint that the list of features includes a demister in the rear, alloy wheels and rear wash/wipe.

Although none of its inside features have been discovered, the interior is expected to be packed with standard ABS, dual airbags touchscreen infotainment system in higher variants.

The Qxi is likely to share the same engine with the UK-spec i20, powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and has two states of tune which are -100PS/172Nm and 120PS/172Nm. While in the lower tune, the engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT, in the higher tune, it is mated to a 6-speed MT.
