Petrol Variant of New Hyundai Creta Gets More Affordable - Here's How

The latest-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta gets yet another price increase but it receives a new entry-level petrol manual variant that helps bring down the base price of the model.

Hyundai introduced the all-new Creta in March this year after showcasing the SUV at the Auto Expo 2020 a month earlier. Right from its launch, the new Hyundai Creta has created quite a name in the mid-size SUV segment, making it the brand’s highest-selling model as well as the best-selling SUV in India month after month. In September 2020, the Hyundai Creta sales volume stood at its peak.

The company has priced the new Creta competitively to gain a bigger edge over its competitors. Now, the carmaker has revised price list of new Hyundai Creta SUV, by reducing the starting price of the car with a new base petrol variant while giving other variants a significant price hike.

Specifically, the Hyundai Creta price now starts at Rs 9.81 lakhs which is around Rs 18,000 cheaper than before. The South Korean company has added a new entry-level E petrol variant for the Creta, thereby decreasing the starting price of the SUV. Earlier, the base petrol variant of the Creta was the EX which was priced from Rs 9.99 Lakhs. As of now, the Creta EX is costlier by Rs 62,000 then stand at the price of Rs 10.60 lakh. All of the other variants get the standard price increase of Rs 11,900. Here are the detailed 2020 Hyundai Creta variant-wise prices for October 2020.

Powering the 2020 Hyundai Creta are three BS6-compliant engine options including two petrols and one diesel that also power the Kia Seltos. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 115 PS of max power and 143 Nm of max torque and comes paired with a 6-speed MT alongside a 7-step IVT. The 1.5-litre diesel mill is tuned to develop 115 PS/ 250 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic option. Lastly, the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor is good for 143 PS/ 242 Nm of peak torque, getting a 7-speed DCT as standard.
