New Hyundai Santa Fe: First Car To Get Fingerprint Technology

The world’s first keyless fingerprint technology which enables drivers to smartly unlock and start the vehicle will be introduced to the selected automotive industry in 2019. The all-new much-awaited Hyundai Santa Fe will be the first car to utilize this world-leading technology then introduced in some selected markets in the first quarter of 2019.

The mechanism of the fingerprint sensors is that the driver who would like to unlock to vehicle needs to place his or her finger on the sensor fitted on the door handle. The fingerprint controller of the car will receive the encrypted fingerprint to identify and analyse the information. To start the vehicle, the driver also needs to touch the scanning sensor on the dashboard that will maximize the driving security.

It is also claimed that the technology will offer a personalized driving environment in which the system will match the driver’s fingerprint data with his preference. Hyundai revealed that the misrecognition ratio is 1 in 50,000 times that is smarter and more innovative than the traditional keys and even the smart keys. The rocketing enhancement of the biometric technology promises to improve the success rate of the fingerprint system to a higher level in the near future.
