Kia has launched the 2020 Picanto facelift in South Korea at INR-equivalent of 7.27 lakh. The updated hatchback gets revised looks, a few added features and a more refined petrol powertrain.

The Korean automaker Kia has finally launched the 2020 Picanto facelift in the South Korean market. The new hatchback has been launched at a starting price tag of KRW 1,17,50,000, which translates to Rs 7.27 lakh. The updated Kia Picanto features refreshed styling, added comfort and convenience features, new safety features and a more refined power plant.

The facelifted Picanto gets new front and rear bumpers, revised front grille, sporty 16-inch alloy wheels, redesigned lower grille and tweaked headlamps and taillights. As compared to the pre-facelift model, the updated car looks more stylish and expressive. The automaker has also introduced a new colour shade named as Honeybee, which can also be seen in the pictures embedded below.

The updated petrol engine is more potent than that of the 1.0-litre engine offered with the pre-facelift model 

The cabin styling of hatchback remains the same. The new model continues to feature a 4.2-inch colour MID along with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected features. The infotainment unit allows the connection of two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, and it also features could-based voice recognition and wireless navigation system. Moreover, the updated hatchback offers some connect car techs like remote AC control, remote vehicle start, remote door lock/unlock, etc. In terms of safety, the new Picanto is being offered with some new advanced safety features like Driver Attention Warning, Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Forward-Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. Mechanically, the 2020 Kia Picanto facelift derives power from an improved 1.0-litre MPI N/A gasoline engine paired with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2020 Picanto facelift now offered in a new Honeybee colour shade

The petrol engine puts out 76 PS of peak power and 95 Nm of twisting force. The improved petrol motor offers 15.7 kmpl of mileage. The pre-facelift model was offered with a 1.0-litre MPI engine coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The old model was also offered with a 1.0-litre LPi LPG powertrain that produces power and torque outputs of 74 PS and 94.14 Nm. The LPG mill was mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. In other markets, the carmaker offers the pre-facelift Picanto with 1.2-litre Naturally Aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol mill. While the Kia Picanto shares its platform and engine options with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the new model won't make it to India as Kia wishes to focus solely on the SUV and MPV segments of our car market.
