Japanese auto giant Nissan has revealed a new company logo, which will start appearing on the carmaker's new-age model later this year. The ‘Nissan’ logo employed on its ongoing models is on offer since 2012 to align with their official slogan, ‘Innovation that excites’.

The automaker has also revealed a new ‘Z’ emblem. The updated ‘Nissan’ logo looks quite simple and sleeker in design. The new look of the Nissan logo has a two-dimensional appearance. It also indicates the carmaker’s progress with minimalist and futuristic designs. Nissan first hinted at the emblem change in the Ariya Electic Crossover, showcased in October 2019. Reports suggest that the automaker has registered the new logo in Peru, Argentina, Great Britain, Uruguay, and Chile.

On the other hand, the new ‘Z’ logo looks quite nostalgic. Die-hard Nissan and JDM fans will easily recognize the design, which is inspired by the S30 Datsun 240Z. The ‘Z’ logo employed on the later generation models of the sportscar went through some minimal cosmetical updates to achieve the design we see today. The updated ‘Z’ emblem was leaked from a trademark application filed by Nissan with the Canadian govt.

In other news, Nissan is also planning to launch an all-new subcompact SUV in India. It’ll be positioned below Kicks in the company’s line-up. Once launched, the new Nissan compact SUV will compete with the like of Hyundai Venue, 2020 Maruti Brezza, and Ford Ecosport. We expect, the all-new SUV to derive power from 1.0-litre, BSVI compliant petrol engine. The engine will come coupled with a manual or an automatic gearbox. The upcoming SUV is codenamed EM2 and is expected to hit the Indian shores by the summer season.
